PROVIDENCE -- Independence Bank, headquartered in East Greenwich, Rhode Island has selected FTNI’s ETran platform for their proprietary Check 21 imaging software, Cool Deposit(TM).

“Independence Bank has been in the Remote Capture Industry since 2005 and we understand what makes a remote capture system successful. We have gathered an extraordinary amount of feedback from our customers and non-customers over the years. Customers want a complete payments solution and FTNI offers this,” said Danielle Desrosiers, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Independence Bank. “Additionally, FTNI was willing to work with us and expand on their existing system to meet all of our customer’s needs which is something our existing provider couldn’t do for us.”

Cool Deposit is a service bureau-type demand-deposit offering targeting small businesses and financial institutions. Utilizing check-imaging technology, Cool Deposit allows businesses to deposit their financial transactions at point of receipt as opposed to requiring businesses to deposit their transactions manually each day. This ability not only decreases time and expense required for manual deposit and item delivery, but also improves funds availability by reducing the time required for items to clear.

FTNI’s ETran platform incorporate check scanning, ACH processing, credit card processing and ID verification on a single user interface that is deployed in a managed-service environment. This solution allows FTNI customers to quickly and easily offer a full-range of processing capabilities on a platform that is easy to deploy and easy to use. Due to the fact that it operates under a software-as-a-service environment, it allows banks to offer a solution without the cost of expensive hardware and software installations.
