Largest Independent Family-owned and Operated Broadline Foodservice Distributor in West Virginia Rolls Out Seamlessly Integrated Receivables Solutions to Streamline AR Processes on a Single, Cloud-based Platform.

OMAHA, Neb. (PRWeb) November 16, 2016 – Financial Transmission Network, Inc. (FTNI) announced today that A.F. Wendling’s Foodservice has successfully launched multiple solutions on the ETran Integrated Receivables platform, including its Fully-Hosted Online Payment Portal and advanced Remote Deposit Capture (RDC).

Founded in 1913, A.F. Wendling’s Foodservice has grown to become the largest independent family-owned and operated broadline foodservice distributor in West Virginia – serving the Mountain State and border markets in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. Wendling’s stocks over 7,000 products (and has access to over 28,000) including fresh seafood, produce, dairy items and a growing line of non-foods products including paper, chemicals and more.

Recognized as a leading software and technology provider to the food and beverage distribution industries by Food Logistics, FTNI’s integrated receivables platform, ETran, is used by numerous distribution companies across the U.S. and Canada, including multiple top-twenty U.S. broadline foodservice distributors and other industry-leading independent foodservice and beverage distributors.

Hosted on FTNI’s secure cloud servers, the ETran Online Payment Portal solution enables A.F. Wendling’s customers to access an A.F. Wendling branded portal to view and pay their open invoices via ACH and credit/debit card as identified within their contracted business terms. The portal also features complete electronic bill/invoice presentment and payment (EBPP/EIPP) capabilities, allowing customers to see their open invoices and select which invoices they’d like to pay. All payment information is processed and stored on ETran’s fully compliant – PCI, HIPAA, SSAE 16 and more – Software as a Service (SaaS) platform.

Since checks still account for a large portion of customer remittances, Wendling has also launched ETran’s advanced RDC module to streamline the historically manual processes associated with check processing. From a single interface, internal AR personnel can now scan check-based customer remittances, associate the payment with the appropriate invoice(s) and have immediate oversight into customer payment data, including payments made via the customer-facing online payment portal.

“The ETran payment portal allows A.F. Wendling customers a new level of convenience to view and pay their invoices online,” said Karla Mealey, Accounts Manager at A.F. Wendling’s Foodservice. “Our customers now have a single access point to not only pay open invoices, but also see past payments made by check as well as payments made online. What’s more, we’re finding new efficiencies within our AR operations thanks to being able to consolidate the acceptance and processing of check and online payments on a single platform.”

Unlike a dashboard that only displays transactions from disparate systems, ETran accepts, processes and posts remittance transactions across any payment method (check, ACH, credit/debit card, cash) from any payment channel (mailed-in, called-in, in-person, online, mobile), all on a single, seamlessly integrated platform. Quickly and easily configured based on unique business needs, ETran automates AR processes and workflows, helping organizations accelerate exception handling, decrease DSO and increase cash flow. A configurable ‘plug-n-play’ platform, ETran supports efficient integration (batch or real-time) with any back-office accounting/ERP system and works with existing banking and merchant processor relationships.

“A.F. Wendling has fully grasped the importance of evolving not only their customer payment experience through the launch of their new online payment portal, but at the same time, how a truly integrated platform can help significantly streamline their AR operations,” said Zac Robinson, Director, Sales and Marketing at FTNI. “We’re excited to have the opportunity to work with the team at A.F. Wending’s Foodservice and look forward to continuing to grow our relationship well into the future.”
