Data Sheet: Fully-Hosted Portal, DirectPay, DirectForm, & DirectPost Explained

Growing transactions means growing complexity. Some customers pay the same account every month; others place a single order and are gone. Fitting both into one payment experience rarely works, and the mismatch shows up as unpaid invoices, manual collections work, and a clunkier experience for everyone.

Four online payment options cover that full range: a fully-hosted portal, a secure payment link, a hosted checkout, and a fully-embedded payment component. Each fits a different kind of customer relationship, and all four run on the same secure, PCI-compliant infrastructure.

Fully-Hosted Portal

A white-labeled, fully-hosted online payment portal with electronic invoice presentment and payment (EIPP) built in. Customers log in to view, select, and pay open invoices from any device, making it the right fit for repeat accounts billed on a regular cycle.

DirectPay

A secure payment link generated directly from any invoice. Customers click the link, land on a PCI-compliant checkout page, and pay with no username or password required, the fastest path to payment for one-time buyers, COD accounts, and occasional payers.

DirectForm

A secure, hosted checkout that keeps invoice presentment on an existing webpage. Customers select which invoices to pay and confirm the total, then move to a secure, FTNI-hosted page to submit payment, a clean handoff for businesses that want to control the experience up to the point of checkout.

DirectPost

A fully-embedded payment acceptance component built directly into an existing website or application. A web development or IT team embeds it once, and FTNI handles security and compliance behind the scenes, start to finish, on-site.

These Solutions Deliver:

  • A payment experience matched to every type of customer, from repeat accounts to one-time buyers
  • Faster payment and fewer unpaid invoices from occasional and new customers
  • Reduced manual work for AR and collections teams
  • Flexible integration effort, from no development work to a fully embedded build
  • Support for one-time and recurring ACH/EFT and credit/debit card payments
  • Automated posting of transaction details to any back-office accounting, ERP, or CRM platform

Choosing the Right Fit

A side-by-side comparison shows what each option is, where checkout happens, who it's built for, and the IT effort and back-office integration involved, so the right choice comes down to how a business bills and how much control it wants over the experience.
